Meet the Founder
For Troy Cox, working with his hands has always been a way of life.
Raised in a family of general contractors, Troy grew up around construction, tools, problem-solving, and the satisfaction of building something from the ground up. That hands-on mindset stayed with him throughout a 30-year career in corporate operations and leadership, where he learned the value of hard work, accountability, teamwork, and doing things right.
In 2022, Troy turned his lifelong passion for working with his hands into TLC Toys & Trades. What started as a part-time venture continued to grow, and in February 2026, Troy made TLC his full-time career.
Today, TLC brings together Troy's leadership experience and his passion for the trades—from welding and fabrication to mechanical work, construction, repairs, and custom projects.
The Story Behind the TLC Logo
The TLC logo was inspired by Troy's 1972 Chevy C-10, a truck he's owned since he was 14 years old.
Troy has spent decades building and restoring the truck himself, including installing seven different engines over the years. More than a classic truck, the C-10 represents Troy's passion for learning by doing, solving problems, and taking pride in the finished product.
It's a perfect reflection of what TLC stands for:
